Return of the Animated GIF?

Microsoft recently launched a cool new animated gif advertisement called “The Way News Spreads” to promote the new Windows Live Messenger Beta (basically an upgraded version of the MSN Messenger IM client).

The massive 5MB animated gif is designed so that it will tile and expand to any screen size.

It’s further proof that what was once old eventually becomes new again.

Dime Store Packaging

With all the fancy marketing talk going around these days, it’s good to occasionally recall simpler times. So let’s all take a moment to reflect back when it was okay to call your product “Plastic Hut” instead of something like “Agricultural Education Center.”

This little site – Dime Store Packaging – contains a couple of dozen hilarious packaging concepts from the days of the dime store.
